Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps you to understand how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are connected. Sometimes we can become caught up in unhelpful patterns of thinking or behaving, which can keep us feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed or stuck. CBT helps you identify these patterns and develop healthier, more balanced ways of responding.
CBT largely focuses on the challenges you're facing now, whilst recognising how previous experiences may have shaped your beliefs and behaviours. Together, we'll explore what is maintaining your difficulties and develop practical strategies and skills that you can use in both therapy and in everyday life.
CBT is a collaborative process. We work together to help you achieve your goals, build confidence and create lasting, meaningful change.
Below are some difficulties I can support with, using CBT techniques:
Depression / Low Mood
Low Self-Esteem
General Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Body Dysmorphia
Specific Phobias (including emetophobia and blood or needle phobia)
Social Anxiety
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
